Strategic Planning Event for Theatre Team

David facilitated a strategic planning event for the team at Wired Aerial Theatre, to devise a new strategic vision and innovative strategy for the company.

The purpose of the ‘team away day’ was to outline a strategic way forward that combines the company’s artistic excellence with an innovative business model. The interactive event used the combined experience and imagination of staff members, company directors and founders Wendy Hesketh Ogilvie and Jamie Ogilvie.

“The day really helped to widen our thinking and broaden our thinking. It was a very enlightening day that allowed me to really understand the dreams and aims of the company. David was a good mediator and helped us to bring all our ideas together to help us form future plans.”
– Sophia Chendoh. Wired Aerial Theatre.

The strategic planning event used a range of techniques and processes, including presentations from the founders and board members, creative thinking techniques to generate new ideas, groupwork exercises and team discussions. David made a presentation on creative entrepreneurship, using inspiring examples from around the world to illustrate how arts organisations and cultural enterprises have used smart business thinking to become even more successful both artistically and commercially.

In preparation for the strategic planning event, every member of the team received a paperback copy of David’s book ‘T-Shirts and Suits: A Guide to the Business of Creativity’. This book is packed with information and examples illustrating how to combine creativity and business.
