David Parrish was featured as an international expert in a creative economy interview on TV in Belarus whilst working in Minsk with creative and cultural entrepreneurs. He spoke about the positive economic impact of the creative industries in the UK and other countries around the world in which he has worked, and emphasised the potential for the growth of the creative economy in Belarus.
In an extract from the interview broadcast online (see video below) David spoke about how the government in Belarus can help to support the growth of the creative economy by providing an environment in which creative businesses and cultural enterprises can thrive. From his experience as a creative industries business adviser in the UK and elsewhere, he spoke about how the creative industries can create jobs and economic growth. In this way, the creative economy can help economic regeneration and wealth creation nationally and internationally.
The interview took place at the British Embassy in Minsk. David was in Belarus to deliver a workshop on strategic planning on behalf of the Culture & Creativity EU-Eastern Partnership Programme, which is designed to help the cultural industries and creative enterprises in Ukraine, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia and Moldova.
