David gave a creative business speech in Spain at a creative industries conference for fashion designers, organised by the WORTH Partnership Project.
His keynote speech “How to be a Successful Creative Entrepreneur” was billed as a Masterclass at the beginning of the WORTH Partnership Project Weekend which was held at Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias in Valencia. More details about the event are online here.
David’s creative business masterclass informed and inspired fashion entrepreneurs working in an increasingly digital and global business environment. David illustrated his creative business masterclass with examples of creative business models from around the world. He talked about strategies for success using techniques he has used in his own enterprises and with his international clients. It included the major business challenges and how to overcome them. David explained how fashion entrepreneurs can create their own business formula. During his presentation, David spoke about ‘How to make money while you sleep’ by licensing intellectual property, in designer fashion and other creative industries. He also spoke about the Sharing Economy and raising investment capital through Crowdfunding. David also spoke about the ‘Freemium’ business model and emphasised how creative entrepreneurs in fashion and other sectors can be creative in the way they select suitable business models to achieve their objectives.

After his presentation, David answered questions from the audience. In response to a question about crowdfunding, David talks about business strategy, prioritisation and ‘saying no’, in relation to crowdfunding, social media, exporting etc.
In answer to another question from the audience after his speech in Spain, David talks about protecting intellectual property.
